Ahead of India’s 25th December release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the star wars fever has reached everyone including President Barack Obama!!
On Friday, which happens to be the official release the new Star Wars movie expected to gross over $250 million in the box office this weekend, USA President Barack Obama referenced the film during an official press conference.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already taken in over $50 million on its preview night.
The White House was not immune to the Star Wars mania and Obama rushed to finish a press conference so that he and Gold Star families and children of fallen soldiers could catch a glimpse of the film in a special White House screening.
‘Clearly this is not the most important event that’s taking place at the White House today,’ Obama said.
‘There is a screening of Star Wars for Gold Star families and children [of fallen soldiers] coming up, so I’ll try to be relatively succinct,’ he added.
‘Okay, everybody, I’ve got to get to Star Wars,’ he concluded prompting White House secretary Josh Earnest to emerge for a photo with two Storm troopers and R2D2.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases in India on 25th December.
