On the topic Satyajeet Tambe stated, “Ahmednagar City is highly potential city in terms of tourism, but it is always neglected. This year when we are celebrating Shri Sai Baba’s centenary year, we want government to spend some budget on tourism development of Ahmednagar. One long term blueprint also should be made by tourism department.”
The city is just few kms from the world-class shrine Shirdi. It will be the best time to develop and promote tourism in the city as it will be Shri Sai Baba’s centenary year, the place will see devotees coming from all over the places for the Darshan. The city has some beautiful forts, museums, temples and dozen historical buildings and sites from the Nizam Shahi period. If developed and restored properly it can be turned into a beautiful tourist attraction spot and will generate a lot of employment opportunities. Ahmednagar fort is a place where Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wrote a famous book ” Discovery of India”.
