Actor Abhishek Kapur is thrilled to be part of MTV BCL once again. The actor says that he has been part of the project since the last two years, and was more than happy to be part of Delhi Daredevils this time too. “I have been a cricketer and I love being part of anything related to cricket. BCL is a fun platform to play the game and I love it,” he says.

Talking about his decision to be part of Delhi Daredevils again, Abhishek says, “These people have been champions since the last two years. The good part about the team is that they are very dedicated and passionate about playing. We all play to win and it feels good to be part of such a team.”

Ask him if it’s tough to take out time for BCL in between his show Kundali Bhagya, and he says, “Not really, because it’s just for 10 days this time and you don’t have to be available every day. We practice after shooting and I don’t think it’s hectic.”

Abhishek’s association with the game goes way back. “I have been playing since I was 10 years old and I have played professionally for under 17, under 19 and under 22 games. I was in Nishant Sharma and Virat Kohli’s batch. I have also been a captain for the Delhi team. Cricket and I go long back and I am happy I am able to play here and live my passion,” he says.

The actor says that playing in unity is the mark of a good team. “We just need to form a group and the good part is that everybody is friends with each other. We have started practicing a few days back, so we still have 10 to 8 days time. We practice after pack up for two to three hours. It’s important that we stay as a unit and the idea is to take one match at a time,” he says.

He adds, “It’s important to keep yourself physically fit. Since the ball is very soft the bowler has to put in a lot of energy energy, stretching should be done before and after practice.”

Meanwhile, Abhishek says that he enjoys working with Marinating Films’ Anand Mishra, the founder of BCL. “I had worked in BCL Punjab with Marinating Films. Everyone at Marinating Films is very hard working. I am sure this season of BCL is going to get a lot of response from the audience as MTV is a channel which is watched more by the youth and it will grab more eyeballs,” he says.

Ask him who is favourite is in the cricket field, and he says, “Virat Kohli is playing really well. I have known him very closely, and he has achieved a lot. I have been following him and a lot of cricketers have been following him too.”
