Actor Sid Makkar encourages women power with his newly released short movie  #MeToo

Sid Makkar, a film, television and stage actor is known for his roles in hindi films Turning 30, Straight, Dus Tola and Luck By Chance. His has worked in the international arena (Sense8 on Netflix,The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and the Australian film Save Your Legs) and on stage (Zangoora the musical) and more recently the web series Spotlight and Rain by Vikram Bhatt. He is now seen in Director Sunil Thadanis newly released short movie titled #MeToo. Sid Makkar has given his all in the film, since its a film with a social message that must reach maximum viewers. The story is dear to him because he is a firm believer of women empowerment and believes that one should talk and share their experiences. Its a way of getting justice and fighting societal pressures.

Produced by Deepalakshmi Chabbria, the movie revolves around a rape victims life which explains her struggles with herself, her man and her home. Sid Makkar is paired opposite Archanna Guptaa who is debuting in this Hindi digital movie. The short movie was inspired by the#MeToo campaign that took social media by storm.

‘’This short film is very special to me as it represents the strength, courage, and bravery a woman has within herself. On the occasion of womens day, I dedicate this film to all the women out there who have the strength within themselves, to come out in the open, fight injustice and prove that they are truly the stronger, more beautiful and more mature of the 2 sexes. If a woman doesn’t believe she is special, I truly want to reach out and let her know that she is ! The aim is to enlighten, influence and maybe even change the thinking of some of the viewers of this film’’says the actor Sid Makkar of the short movie.
