I am looking at doing performance based roles in films: Pooja Bhamrah

The hot and stunning emcee-actress Pooja Bhamrah made a gorgeous splash in Anil Kapoor starrer Fanney Khan. Call it sheer coincidence that Pooja plays an anchor in the film, a role that she is well versed with in her professional life too. In an exclusive interview with Bollywoodwallah, Pooja talks about Fanney Khan and her future plans.

How did Fanney Khan happen?
I was auditioned for the role by Mukesh Chabra’s team. My experience as a TV host for Prokabaddi on Star sports and various other shows really helped in getting this role.
Was playing yourself on screen easy?
It actually was. I did have to tweak my style a bit here and there as per the script but director Atul Manjrekar made it a breeze for me
What kind of roles are you looking at playing in films?
As actors, we all want to versatile. But ofcourse, like any other actor, I also have a few dream roles. Taking example from Hindi cinema, I would love to essay characters on the lines of Rani Mukherjee from Mardaani, Kangana from Queen and Alia Bhatt from Raazi, Priyanka Chopra from Mary Kom…the list goes on actually. I believe that one must let one’s work do the talking. So performance based roles is something that I am seeking. But then again, I’m at a stage where I would take up roles that help me show my mettle.
What are your future plans?
I come from a diverse background of modelling and hosting. But now the focus is entirely on growing as an actor, an actor who will be known for her craft.
