The beautiful, hot and charming Roma Varadkar recently won the first runner up position at Mrs. India Pacific 2019. In an exclusive interaction with Bollywoodwallah, this investment banker turned model talks about winning the prestigious honour, her modelling career and future goals. Excerpst from the interview.
Congrats on winning the first runner up position at Mrs India Pacific 2019. How does it feel?
Firstly thank you so much for your kind wishes. It’s a feeling which cannot expressed in words . It’s a most wonderful feeling in the world because i could see my dream coming true. As a little girl I had always dreamt of walking the ramp and wearing the winning crown and now when that dream has actually turned into reality I am feeling so very happy and proud about my own self. It’s not just my victory but it’s something which I want to share it with my husband Abhishek Varadkar and my entire family. I would also like to mention here it’s never to late to start anything new in life. Though I am 36 now I never felt age is a constrain for me. I was happy to give tough competition to girls aged 20-21. Its a big big achievement for me and I shall always treasure this moment in my life.
How did you prepare for the pageant?
Preparation for this pageant had begun a year back. I truly believe to win any pageant u need to work on your body, brains and beauty and have everything in right proportion and that you can achieve with your entire dedication, determination & discipline in life. Whatever I have achieved today is only and only because of my perseverance & never give up attitude in life. I have groomed myself from the one of the leading pageant training academy in Mumbai – Absolu Elle. Simran Vig my coach & my mentor has put in her blood and soul to bring out the best in me. She is an Iron Lady and has transformed me completely. I can’t thank her enough for her efforts put in me. She is a beautiful soul inside out & full of positivite vibes. Though the journey has been very very difficult for me but it was all worth it! And they rightly say nothing comes easy in life. I truly believe in Working Hard in Silence & let your success make the noise.
How did you venture into the world of modelling after marriage?
I had never in my wildest dream ever thought of entering into this world of pageantry. It all started with a push from my husband who has been a backbone for my success. He believed in more more than what I believed in myself. He has been my guide, mentor, soulmate & a true friend. He kept telling me no matter what the situation is, no matter how tough life gets no matter how low you feel in life, just get up, dress up and show up should be your attitude towards life. He has given wings to my dreams & I am so blessed and fortunate to have a life partner like him. It’s not very easy for a mother of two who lives with two physically challenged in-laws who are deaf and mute by birth to come this far & actually win it. Also my husband lives overseas for work and that made my journey even more tougher. Though we live miles apart we are always connected by heart and he has stood as a pillar and has been my support system till the very end. Also, to mention Rajeev Khandelwal (well known Bollywood actor & host )a close friend has been a true motivator throughout my journey. I can’t thank him enough for his continuous love and support. Last but not the least – a big thank you to my friends & family.
What is your daily beauty regime?
Well I take utmost care of my body and health. I have been on a healthy diet since past one year now. I am proud to mention that I have lost almost 10 kgs and weighing 46 kgs now and have achieved the perfect figure for this pageant. My diet consists of fresh fruits, salads, soups, no carbohydrates, no fats and high proteins. Beauty sleep is very very important to look and feel fresh all the time. I would like to tell people sleep atleast for around 7-8 hours to get that glow on your face. I don’t believe in using chemicals on my face at all and hence I use lot of home made face packs for a healthier skin. Don’t apply make up when not required & let your skin breathe which is so very important.
How do you take care of your body?
I truly believe that an intelligent mind starts with a fitter body. It’s very very important to do daily workout and keep yourself fit. What I really did was taking good care of my body and skin by doing regular workouts and eating healthy and of course at the right time. Treat your body as a temple and worship it.. it shall definitely give you good results. Junk food is a big no no for your body. Moreover, I would say you need to have a right attitude in your life to achieve anything you want to. Once you have that in you, sky is only the limit. Be passionate about your goal and vision and rest everything will fall in place.
What is coming up next?
Well, I want to use my title well and add lot of credibility to it and do lot of social work for the society. I want to be famous by doing social work for my community and the needy people. I want to divide my time from my family and do more and more productive work for the underprivileged children. Being a human I do not want to promise stars and moon but definitely I have a set agenda to take forward here on.
Are you also interested in Bollywood?
