Box office collection: Mission Mangal and Batla house

Mission Mangal film which features ensemble star cast including Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonkashi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu to name few, released on the independence day attracting a large number of audience to the cinema halls.

Directed by Debutant director Jagan Shakti, the film is based on ISRO’s achievement over the MOM (Mission on Mars) Mangalyaan . India being the first Asian nation to make its landing on Mars. Inspirational to par the film is high on patriotism. Each and every actor has done justice to their role.

Over the weekend the Box office collection of Mission Mangal amounted to, Thursday: 29.16cr, Friday: 17.28cr, Saturday: 23.58cr and Sunday: 27.57cr. Total: 97.56cr It is about to hit the 100 cr mark on the 4th day.

On the other hand the film which had a tough competition is Batla House starring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur in the lead. Released on 15th of august. The film has managed to impress everyone.

Directed by Nikhil Advani the film is inspired by real life incident The Batla House Encounter Case that took place in 2008. It shows both sides of the story, but it’s enough to have an opinion on which side you’d be on.

The film made a good weekend collection in midst of the competition, slowly picking up pace. Thursday: 15.55cr, Friday: 8.84cr, Saturday: 10.90cr, Sunday: 12.70cr. Total: 47.99cr
