Out of love Hotstar webseries : Newcomers Meenakshi Chaudhary and Disha Thakur impress in Out of Love

The most refreshing bit about watching a webseries is the fact that you get to see fresh new talents on screen, an unlikely occurance in Bollywood today where courtesy nepotism, outsiders barely get a meaty role. Hotstar’s recently released webseries Out of Love impressed me for its apt casting of actor. Two new faces to catch my attention happened to be Meenakshi Chaudhary and Disha Thakur.

Disha Thakur – Her curly locks and intense kohl lined eyes are enough to arrest attention in Out of Love. She is not your usual drop dead porcelain beauty. Unconventional in her looks, it is her piercing gaze that speaks volumes in the series. The hurried way in which she rushes her meeting with Dr. Meera conveys that something is amiss. Her transformation from a scared soul to becoming a reluctant spy is well portrayed on screen. Wish she had a larger and better author backed role. Neverthless Disha holds her own as Shalini.

Meenakshi Chaudhary – Smart, seductive and sauve, her character combines all qualities that would perhaps make it easy for married men to stray. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the find of this series. Tall, strikingly beautiful with a confident screen presence, Meenakshi makes an impressive debut. What I particularly liked about Meenakshi is her dialogue delivery. She skilfully displays the love, anger and angst a paramour faces when her marrried lover is caught between his wife and his girlfriend. Just like Disha’s character, wish Meenakshi’s character had a far more author backed role that would have brought far more variety into the series.
