It is very challenging to shoot a lovemaking scene: Tanvi Patil

Ever since the advent of OTT apps in Indian digital space content has become bold, bolder and boldest with every sort of genre being shot. Actress Tanvi Patil who recently dabbled into the bold webseries and short film space has been a part of a few offering namely Lockdown 2.0, Chinchpeti, Yeh Raatein Yeh Mausam and Open House. The bold beauty has shed her inhibitions in a few series making it a first for her in her acting career.

Says Tanvi, “As an actress, I look at taking and pulling off roles that are not run off the mill kinds. These offers came my way and I gave it a try. When the camera starts rolling, I switch off from the real world. Everything around me fades into oblivion and I am focused on performing the role in hand.”

Speaking about her bold avatar, Tanvi says, “People may have difference perceptions as far as bold scenes go. Top Hollywood actresses have gone nude in many of their films but they are often feted and loved. Doing a bold scene doesn’t make you a bad person. It is shot in a professional environment and we as professional actors are essaying a role.”

Narrating her challenges when it comes to shooting a lovemaking scene, Tanvi said,” Shooting a lovemaking scene has never been easy for me. Lovemaking is a very personal emotion. To act it out on screen with your co-star who is a rank stranger is very very difficult. When it comes to physical intimacy on shoots, the camera, lights, people on sets can tend to make one nervous and not so comfortable. The final product on screen may look like  agreat romantic moment but trust me while shooting it is a big challenge for me to disconnect and bring that authenticity in expression to make it look real. Yes, I have felt uncomfortable many times but as a professional I believe in completing my job.”

Are actors paid well for their bold scenes? “Not really,” says Tanvi and elaborates,” We deserve much much more. We are not paid well. I hope that changes because doing such scenes are never easy. So if an actress shoot such scenes in challenging conditions, she definitely deserves to be paid a lot more.”

Commenting on her future projects, Tanvi said, ” I have shot a few more series for different OTTs. Let’s see when it will get released.”
