The White Tiger review – Average Adaptation of Arvind Adiga’s book

Not every novel can be translated into a successful film. Arvind Adiga’s much acclaimed novel, The White Tiger’s film adaptation bearing the same name was released on Netflix this Friday. However, the film lacks the soul connect the book was able to establish with its readers. Making matters worse for the film was the use of English as its original language. It was certainly funny to watch servant speaking in English to his master in a local village settings in India. Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao added on to the combined misery with their fake Americanized accent which became a little too irritating to hear after a certain point. The film tried its best to replicate the book but with little success. In the end, it turned out to be an average fare.
