Unveiling the Nakshatra Diamond Jewellery line on the ramp at India International Jewellery Week 2017 the inspiration was the glorious stars in the celestial sky. Created in 18K gold with diamonds, the stylised classic seven petals diamond flower known as the ‘Kudajodi’, which is connected with the mythical constellation named ‘Saptarishi Mandalam’, was seen in the designs. This lovely flower is always considered an auspicious symbol that will bring good luck and blessings to the wearer.

The grand show opened with the very dynamic and graceful Sandip Soparrkar, ace dance expert and top model Alesia Raut who enthralled the audience with a stunning salsa and tango. Sandip wore an impressive, giant, diamond collar-cum-pocket brooch, while Alesia dazzled with diamond earrings.

The jewellery collection that followed was a lavish display of the most exquisite pieces seen on the ramp. Tasselled ruby pendants, cascading neckpieces, flat diamond and emerald geometric collars, lacy necklaces with pearls and ruby accents and the diamond choker with a lacy, flowing, bib were mind-boggling. Gorgeous sapphires, pear shaped giant emeralds and scalloped diamond creations created an unending line of beauty and jewellery.

A trio of Sufi dancers moved in perfect unison before the second fashion and jewellery section, which was devoted to some more splendid bridal jewellery. Uncut polkis, chandbalis, dual strands of diamonds, rubies and pearls were turned into necklaces; while large 3-strands of uncut emeralds were mesmerising in their splendour. The pearl strand with a giant lotus pendant encrusted with diamonds would be a perfect wedding ornament.

The glamorous creations by top designer Archana Kochhar were the perfect balance for the gorgeous bridal and festive jewellery.

When it comes to jewellery par excellence, the Nakshatra World collection is what every woman will long for on the most important day of her life.
