Shatrugan Sinha Reveals Why He Initially Refused The Hit Film ‘Kalicharan’ 

Bollywood’s shotgun Shatrughan Sinha, opened up about his initial reaction on the script of the superhit movie Kalicharan (1976), which re-premiered recently. The movie served as a stepping stone towards success, for the actor. On Sunday 24th September 2017, Kalicharan re-premiered at the Mukta A2 New Excelsior Cinema, Fort, Mumbai, the same theater in which it was released 40 years ago. At the event, the veteran actor candidly shared, “I refused doing Kalicharan as an actor after listening to the script, but later agreed to do the film as a good friend of Subhash Ghai.”
The movie starred Reena Roy in the lead along with Shatrughan Sinha in a double role along with Danny Denzongpa, Ajith and Prem Nath in supporting roles. Kalicharan was also Subhash Ghai’s directorial debut. On the occasion, Bollywood’s showman Subhash Ghai said, “Kalicharan’s script got rejected several times before it became this hit.” Along with Shatrughan Sinha and Subhash Ghai, the music composer of Kalicharan – Mr. Anandji, was also present at the re-premiere sharing the good old memories of the classic era revived by Mukta A2 Cinemas.
