The IIFA 2020 press conference was held on 4th March 2020 at Sofitel Mumbai BKC. The event was attended by popular Bollywood stars Kartik Aryan, Katrina Kaif and Dia Mirza. The stars unveiled the banner for the awards show. The IIFA is celebrating its 20th homecoming celebration in Mumbai. The 21st edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) will be held in Bhopal, Indore from March 27-29, 2020. Superstar Salman Khan is being credited with bringing IIFA to Madhya Pradesh.
Katrina Kaif and Kartik Aaryan started off the event with their fun bickering. Kartik who walked in with a broken arm was requested to perform his uber popular hook step ‘Haan Main Galat.’ Both Katrina and Kartik seemed to be having a lot of fun teasing each other. The stars also played a rapid fire quiz where Kartik challenged Jacquline to perform a belly dance at IIFA awards and Hrithik Roshan to perform his famous number ‘Dhoom machale’ and Katrina was tagged for her chartbuster ‘Sheela ki Jawaani.’
Katrina meanwhile shared her thoughts about IIFA awards and how IIFA has always stayed true to its reputation and kept their promises. She expressed confidence that this time too it will be be a night to remember. Kartik, on his part, vehemently claimed that this would be the biggest event of 2020 and hoped to meet everyone there.
Dia Mirza who has been a part of IIFA for 19 years first as an actor and then as a producer is also an Ambassador for various environment causes and campaigns. She said how certain things cannot be ignored and the fact that our existence, wealth, well being, progress, growth and success as human beings and as society, country and world is completely dependent on nature which should not be forgotten. She mentioned the incredible behavioural change of actors who participated in campaigns against plastic pollution or for clean air. She shared her thoughts on the protection of nature.
It is said that this year on March 27 IIFA rocks will be staged featuring A.R. Rahman and Arijit Singh. On March 29 the night of IIFA awards will be hosted by Salman Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Performing will be Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Kartik Aaryan, Jacquline Fernandez and Kareena Kapoor. Now that’s what we call a power packed award function.
