Philantrophy has always been the middle name of Amitabh Bachchan. The megastar has time and again lent a financial helping hand to the less fortunate ones. At a time when India is grappling with Covid pandemic, Bachchan loosened his pursue strings and donated a whooping sum of Rs 2 crore towards Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Centre in Delhi. And staying true to his nature of being discreet about his charitable ways, the Piku actor made absolutely no noise about it.

However generous acts often don’t go unnoticed and unpublicised. Politician Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted about Amitabh Bachchan magnanimous donation. ‘Sikhs are Legendary, salute to their service’. These were the words of @SrBachchan Ji when he contributed Rs 2 Cr to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Covid Care Facility. While Delhi was grappling for Oxygen, Amitabh Ji called me almost daily to enquire about the progress of this Facility,” Sirsa wrote on Twitter.

Ever since the pandemic broke out in India, many Bollywood stars have been at the forefront helping people out with financial aid, food packets and medical aid. Last year, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and many others made large hearted donations that went a long way in helping people.
