Sonu Sood brings Oxygen Plants from France to India

By: Kavya Pillai

Reel- life actor and real- life Humanitarian Hero Sonu Sood is bringing in oxygen plants from France. The hit of the second wave has left the country in dire need of oxygen cylinders, which has in turn led hospitals struggling to accommodate patients.

During these grim times, Sonu emerged a saviour taking it upon himself to help thousands this past year. From launching a toll-free helpline number to help migrant workers reach their homes to providing meals and jobs via ‘Pravaasi Rojgar’ for migrants, Sonu has done it all. He even provided accommodation to health care workers who were in a high-risk situation daily at his Juhu hotel. The help did not stop there. Even underprivileged children were supplied tablets and mobiles for their online education and Indian students stuck abroad were flown home safely and expenses were borne by him.

Now, the SDG awardee (special recognition by the UNDP) is chipping in again by arranging oxygen plants from France which will be installed in Maharashtra and Delhi. Talking about the same, the actor said “We have seen a lot of people suffering because of the unavailability of oxygen cylinders. We have got it now, and are already giving it to people. However, these oxygen plants will not only supply to entire hospitals but will also get these oxygen cylinders filled up, which will solve a major problem of the people suffering from Covid-19.”

Bollywood has been at the forefront, lending a helping hand to the needy ever since the pandemic broke out India last year. Apart from Sonu, actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and many others have made timely donations both in the form of money and medical aid through their respective charitable organisations.
