Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas raise $1M for India’s covid-19 relief

Like many other actors, Priyanka Chopra and husband Nick Jonas have come forward to help India fight the ongoing covid 19 crisis. The couple managed to raise 1 million dollars through a fundraiser in association with Give India. The Desi Girl fame posted a video on her Instagram thanking her followers and the people who came forward to help them.

She wrote ,“Through some of the darkest days in our history, humanity has once again proven that we are better together. @nickjonas and I are so humbled by your support and by the outpouring of help for India from so many parts of the world. Over 14,000 good Samaritans opened their hearts and helped us raise $ 1 million in these trying times. Countless others helped us spread the world to expedite the process.”

The couple received donations from over 14,000 people and successfully achieved the target of $1 million. The funds are being used to provide beds, ventilators, oxygen cylinders and vaccines across the country. After achieving the desired target, the couple didn’t stop here, they further raised the fundraising target to 3 million dollars!

She added , “ All the money raised is already being deployed across the country in the form of oxygen concentrators, vaccine support and so much more. We can all continue to help so let’s not stop here. We’re raising the the fundraising target to $3 Million and we know that with your help and support we can achieve this too. Thank you for your incredible support and thank you @give_india for the incredible work you are doing on ground. “
