Gadar 2 trailer released: Sunny Deol’s comeback as Tara Singh

Gadar 2, the trailer released this Wednesday. The film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which featured Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. The duo reunites for Gadar 2, which has been directed by Anil Sharma, who had also helmed the original. Gadar 2 was announced in 2021, with an initial release date of 2022. The film began its promotional campaign last month with a teaser. It will see a box office clash with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha starred Sunny Deol who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl (Ameesha Patel). The sequel is a period action drama set in 1970’s Lahore where Sunny Deol finds himself in the midst of ‘Crush India Movement’. The tagline of the trailer says “This Independence Day, he will fight for his family and the nation.” Though the Independence Day week will see two films clashing, it won’t be something new for Deol, who was part of Bollywood’s one of the most historic clashes in 2001 as his film released against Aamir Khan’s Lagaan. While the Aamir Khan film became a globally acclaimed hit, Gadar turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema. Audience is excited to see the duo on screen again. The trailer seems to be promising.

Recently, there was a grand trailer launch event. Sunny Deol could be seen getting emotional at the event due to the overwhelming response and outpour of love by fans. The moment Ameesha saw him tear up, she went over to wipe his tears and gave him a warm hug. Fan’s can’t get over this heartwarming moment. Gadar 2 is all set to release on August 11, 2023
