Taali Trailer Review

In the new series Taali, the Bollywood star Sushmita Sen will play transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. Sushmita Sen is all set to be seen in a new avatar. A heartwarming yet powerful story of courage is promised in the series’ trailer. The actress known for her versatility as an artist has once again opted for a sensitive subject in her new series. While Aarya was an action-thriller, Taali is about the fight for social justice for the transgender community. Sushmita has done a brilliant job at portraying Shreegauri. From her very first scene, her acting commands your attention and makes you examine uncomfortable situations with empathy. Sushmita is as tenacious as the unyielding Shreegauri Sawant, and she tackles any challenges that come her way, including her desire to become a mother since she was a young girl, her physical transition from Ganesh to Gauri, and her acceptance by the transgender community before taking their fight to the Supreme Court.
Taali is yet another film that is willing to treat a community that is marginalized and misunderstood with respect and decency. In one of the many dramatic scenes that make up the trailer for Ravi Jadhav’s Taali, Shreegauri Sawant, played by Sushmita Sen, says, “Even dogs are counted in a census, but transgenders are not. It is based on a real-life character’s struggle for third-gender legal rights. In addition to M and F, ‘other’ is now included in official documents thanks to the work of campaigners like Sawant.
This film is about Shreegauri Sawant’s Supreme Court petitions to be recognised as the third gender and for adoption rights for transgender people. From the trailer, it does look like her journey is adequately covered in Taali. Taali will start streaming on JioCinema from August 15.
