8 Bollywood Movies to watch out for in 2018

2018 is going to be a fabulous year for Bollywood. A lot of films are ready to hit the screens in 2018 and Bollywoodwallah tells you where to put your money.
Veere Di Wedding
Rarely has an all woman lead story met with more anticipation than this film. The sheer joy of watching a bevy if beautiful and interesting female actors headed by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor mouthing some of the boldest and funniest lines anyone has heard is in itself interesting. This movie has created quite a hype and will be releasing on June 1.

Dhadak is the remake of superhit Marathi film Sairat which  Karan Johar is bringing to Bollywood. After successfully launching star kids Alia Bhat and Varun Dhawan along with Sidharth Malhotra in the movie Student of the Year, Johar has yet again taken the mantle to give a break to Janhvi Kapoor and paired her opposite Ishaan Khatter. Both come from an excellent lineage,Janhvi being the daughter of late actress Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor, while Ishaan who recently debuted with Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds is actor Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother.
Sanjay Dutt’s biopic: Sanju
Even as a picture taken on the sets of the film was leaked one was jolted out of their senses at seeing how Ranbir in his salt and pepper beard closely resembled Sanjay Dutt. When the first official teaser hit the screens that belief was only fortified. Viewers couldn’t help noticing the similarity between the two actors and though modern day prosthetics and make up can alter a person’s appearance we have to give it to Ranbir for carrying the attitude of Munnabhai squarely on his shoulders. A lot is riding for Ranbir with this film as he hasn’t managed to deliver a hit during his past few outings to the box office. But we can say he is in safe hands as Raju is yet to deliver a flop.
Fanney Khan
For everyone who was waiting for the magical pairing of Ash and Anil Kapoor, this hindi remake of a Belgian film will provide solace. The audience will get to watch Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor once again reunite on-screen after their previous super hit musical Taal. From the stories going on the internet we are guaging that Amitabh plays the role of a singing sensation and Anil Kapoor is an aspiring singer. The cast also includes National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao, who plays Aishwarya’s love interest. We are rubbing our hands in glee and can’t wait for the film to release.
After giving us slice of life films like Toiler: Ek Prem Katha and Padman, Akshay Kumar is back to thrill us the Independence Day week with “Gold”, a film which will recreate on screen India’s historic win in hockey at the 1948 Olympics. Going by the trailer it seems to be a riot! Another positive is it will see Reema Kagti coming together with Akshay.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
Kangana takes the role of the sword wielding fighter queen, Manikarnika in a biographical account of the 19th-century queen Rani Laxmibai who ruled over the princely state of Jhansi in North India. Kangana Ranaut, who has previously found success playing strong and quirky women characters in Queen and Simran, stars in the titular role. Rani Laxmibai was one of the most influential figures leading the Indian charge against the British during the rebellion of 1857.
Thugs of Hindustan
We wouldn’t be exaggerating quite a lot by saying that the audience is waiting with bated breath for this film and it simply is one of the most awaited films of 2018. With the original Don Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, two of Bollywood’s most acclaimed actors sharing screen space for the very first time, Thugs of Hindustan is expected to be nothing less than spectacular.
This Diwali release is a period action adventure film directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who had earlier worked with Aamir for the Dhoom series.
Who would have thought the King of Romance would don the very very challenging role of a dwarf. Aanand L. Rai will direct Shah Rukh Khan in this knotty love story which is releasing this Christmas. The movie will be a make or break for SRK who needs a hit soon. We are waiting and so are the millions of fans of the actor. The movie releases on December 21 and will enjoy a Christmas week rush as schools and colleges shut for year end vacations.
Well what can we say it’s indeed going to be a full thali of absolutely mouth watering dishes this year.
