The web series launch was held at The View , Andheri(W)on 29th May, 2018. Produced and written by Vikram Bhatt , Maaya is back with its season 2 releasing on 30th May, 2018. Maaya is story of Simmi and Ruhi , one who is an engaged closeted woman and other is more open and liberal.The launch had its star cast present, Priyal Gor, Leena jumani, Tanvi and the actors. It is directed by Krishna Bhatt, daughter of Vikram Bhatt.
In a quick banter, the cast spoke about how the story is more important than anything that drives to choose the part. Leena Jumani said ‘ Every role that we take up as actors is challenging , that teaches and helps us grow.’ Talking about how they were handling the hatred coming towards the trailer and promos the director , Krishna Bhatt said we need to stop underestimating our Indian audience. They are very encouraging and ready for such topics to be talked about .Vikram Bhatt being the writer told us ‘ The issue taken up with this season of Maaya is a taboo issue that is still spoken in hushed voices. The law that prohibits them is a different burning issue but the thoughts need to be changed’.
