Bombay Begums review – A bunch of Boring Begums

Bombay Begums is a superb series that you must definitely watch if you wish to fall asleep. It is that boring. Consisting of six episodes with each episode almost an hour long, this webseries will leave you mighty bored. The writing is absolutely uninspiring offering nothing new. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastav, this series has all the usual silly scenes that one will get to see in Shrivastava’s films like extra marital affairs and many more. Not to forget, the downright silly lesbian scene thrown into the mix god knows for what!!!

Logic also goes missing from this series. For instance, Pooja Bhatt playing the CEO of a bank reinstates a female employee who was fired by her immediate superior just because employee tells her sob story to Bhatt inside the washroom. Next we see the female employee eating poha inside Bhatt’s cabin. Wonder what Netflix people were eating while buy such below average content.

Pooja Bhatt and Amruta Subhash try their best to light up things but fail. Plabita and Shahana Goswami deliver super flop performances. Not to forget, the series leaves no chance in villifying men. Talk about agenda driven writing.
