I’m playing Mallika Sherawat’s protector in Naagmati, it will be a challenging role: Salil Ankola

Former Indian cricketer turned actor Salil Ankola is all beefed up and excited about his next role in Mallika Sherawat starrer bilingual film, Naagmati. For Salil, this film will be his first project post pandemic. The actor said that it will be a demanding role because the film will be a bilingual and will be shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil languages and also to be dubbed in other languages. Said Salil, “It is my first assignment post pandemic. I will say it is a demanding role because I don’t know much of Tamil.”

The film is currently being filmed in ND Studios. “I am shooting here in ND Studios for the first time and I am sure this will be a good experience as well.”

Salil will be playing the role of Mallika Sherawat’s character’s protector in the film. Explaining about his role, Salil said, ” It is not a romantic role at all. I am playing the protector of Mallika’s character. So in a way you can say that I am like Katappa. I will have to do a lot of action scenes. For that I will wearing armours and other heavy metal clothes. Thankfully it won’t be as heavy as my serial costumes.”

Salil will also be doing heavy duty action scenes in the film. ” You will definitely get to see my biceps and triceps in the film. I will be doing action like sword fighting. The last time I did sword fight I injured my hand and had to get seven stitches.”

Salil meanwhile is also busy in his role as chief selector of Mumbai cricket team. ” There are some exciting talents in Mumbai team to watch out for,” said Salil before signing off.
