Deepika Padukone says she didn’t charge for her special appearance in Jawan

Deepika Padukone has spoken out about her bond with SRK. She was last seen in a cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan film Jawan. Deepika described Shah Rukh Khan as “each other’s lucky charms” in an interview, claiming that their friendship extends beyond their respective careers. She continued by saying that their mutual ‘trust and respect’ allows them to be vulnerable with one another.

Deepika said“We are each other’s lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other… I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika were both featured together in Pathaan earlier this year, and Deepika is now getting accolades for her appearance in Jawan, marking her sixth time working with Shah Rukh. In the 2007 film Om Shanti Om, Deepika made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh. Additionally, they appeared together in Chennai Express and Happy New Year. Together, all of their movies have performed well at the box office. While Jawan is on track to surpass the 700 global gross barrier, Pathaan had a spectacular run at the box office, earning over 1000 crore. The movie was released on September 7.

Speaking about her films with Shah Rukh doing very well at the box office, the actor said, “I’ve never been fascinated by numbers whether it was maths in school or the numbers of Pathaan. I was just happy that cinemas had come alive again, that people had come alive again. I was really grateful for that.” She also added,  “I wanted to be a part of 83 because I wanted it to be an ode to women who stand behind their husbands’ glory. I watched my mother do it. ibis was my homage to wives who make sacrifices to support their husbands’ careers. Other than that, any special appearance for Shah Rukh Khan, I am there. Same with Rohit Shetty,”

In a video posted by the Pathaan production company, Yash Raj Films, earlier this year, Deepika referred to Shah Rukh as her “most favorite co-star.”
