Baby Do Die Do Trailer Review: Seema Pahwa Impresses, But Where’s The Punch?

The trailer of Baby Do Die Do promises action and thrills but struggles to generate excitement. While Seema Pahwa steals the show with her commanding screen presence, Huma Qureshi's hitwoman character lacks a defining action moment, making the overall trailer feel underwhelming.

The trailer of Baby Do Die Do, starring Huma Qureshi, has finally arrived, promising action, thrills, and a female-led narrative. However, after watching the trailer, one can’t help but feel that it falls short of delivering the excitement expected from an action entertainer.

The biggest surprise of the trailer is undoubtedly Seema Pahwa. Despite her limited screen time, she leaves a lasting impression with her commanding screen presence, expressions, and dialogue delivery. Every time she appears on screen, she instantly grabs attention and injects energy into the proceedings. In many ways, she emerges as the most memorable aspect of the trailer.

As for Huma Qureshi, there is no questioning her acting ability. She has proven her talent time and again. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t offer a defining moment that establishes her as a truly formidable action hero. The action glimpses shown are brief and fragmented—whether it’s a sequence involving an umbrella or shots featuring firearms, nothing really stands out as a memorable set piece. For a film built around a hitwoman character, the trailer needed at least one jaw-dropping action sequence that would leave audiences talking. That moment is missing.

The background score works reasonably well and lends some support to the visuals. However, the overall impact remains underwhelming. The editing fails to generate the tension, adrenaline, or intrigue that a thriller of this nature requires. Instead of building excitement, the trailer feels surprisingly subdued and lacks the spark needed to create strong anticipation.

Another concern lies beyond the trailer itself. The film is currently scheduled to release on July 3, putting it on a collision course with Alia Bhatt’s highly anticipated action film Alpha. Competing directly with a major studio-backed project featuring a top star could prove challenging. Screen availability and audience attention are likely to be dominated by Alpha, making it difficult for Baby Do Die Do to find breathing space at the box office. A different release date may have given the film a better opportunity to stand out.

That said, a trailer is only a glimpse of the final product. There have been several instances where underwhelming trailers were followed by entertaining films. The hope remains that Baby Do Die Do delivers a gripping story and action sequences that are far more impactful than what has been showcased so far.

Final Verdict: Based purely on the trailer, Baby Do Die Do doesn’t quite hit the target. Seema Pahwa shines, Huma Qureshi looks sincere, but the action and overall presentation fail to generate the desired excitement. For now, this trailer earns 2 stars out of 5, with the hope that the film itself turns out to be a far better experience.
