The wait for Bollywood’s maddest comedy franchise just got shorter. The makers of Dhamaal 4 have officially announced a change in the film’s release date — the Ajay Devgn-led laughter riot will now hit cinemas on July 10, 2026, a full week ahead of its originally planned date of July 17, 2026.
Why the Date Was Changed
The decision to prepone the film appears to be a smart strategic move. Trade buzz suggests that Alia Bhatt’s much-anticipated YRF spy thriller Alpha is now expected to release on July 3, 2026. With that shift, the July 10 weekend opened up — and the Dhamaal 4 team wasted no time in claiming the vacant slot. A clear mid-July window means the comedy entertainer can enjoy an uncontested run at the box office, free from a direct clash with another big-ticket release.
For the makers, the earlier arrival is also being positioned as a treat for fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the franchise after the blockbuster success of Total Dhamaal in 2019.
The Announcement
The update was shared officially by the makers and the cast on social media, accompanied by a striking new logo for the film. Ajay Devgn announced the new date on his Instagram with a playful caption hinting at the film’s treasure-hunt premise, tagging the entire ensemble cast. T-Series Films also confirmed the news, teasing that the craziest treasure hunt of the year begins on July 10.
The Gang Returns — Bigger and Madder
Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 reunites the franchise’s beloved core — Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi and Sanjay Mishra — the faces that have defined the series’ brand of slapstick chaos for nearly two decades. Joining the madness this time is a fresh ensemble featuring Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, Vijay Patkar and Ravi Kishan.
The plot once again revolves around a wild treasure hunt, with the gang chasing a mysterious fortune — a setup that promises the franchise’s trademark mix of outrageous situations, quirky characters and laugh-out-loud confusion. Principal photography on the film wrapped in September 2025.

The Dhamaal series has been one of Bollywood’s most dependable comedy brands. The original Dhamaal (2007) was a sleeper hit, Double Dhamaal (2011) opened strongly, and Total Dhamaal (2019) emerged as a massive commercial success, making the fourth instalment one of the most anticipated comedies of 2026.
