Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses Rs 300 Crore in India, Beats Avengers: Endgame’s Record

Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day has stormed past Rs 300 crore net in India in just six days — the fastest Hollywood film ever to do so, beating Avengers: Endgame's record. Here's the full box office breakdown.

Tom Holland’s friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man has swung straight into the Indian box office record books. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed the Rs 300 crore net mark in India in just six days, becoming the fastest Hollywood film ever to achieve the milestone — a record previously held by Avengers: Endgame, which took 10 days to get there.

The numbers tell the story of a phenomenon. The film opened to a massive Rs 60.60 crore on Thursday, July 30 — the biggest opening day ever for a non-Indian film — and never looked back. Friday brought in Rs 49.35 crore, before the weekend sent collections soaring to Rs 70.25 crore on Saturday and a staggering Rs 77.75 crore on Sunday. Even the weekday numbers have held remarkably steady, with Rs 23.80 crore on Monday and Rs 21.50 crore on Tuesday — a drop of under 10 percent. The total India net collection now stands at approximately Rs 303 crore, with the gross figure at around Rs 362 crore.

With this, Brand New Day joins an exclusive club. Only two Hollywood films had previously crossed Rs 300 crore net in India — Avengers: Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water. Brand New Day is now the third, and it got there faster than both. It has also become the first Hollywood release to cross the Rs 300 crore gross mark during its opening weekend in India, and currently ranks as the third highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country. Avengers: Endgame’s lifetime total of Rs 373 crore is next in its sights — and at this pace, the second spot could fall as early as the second weekend.

India’s love affair with the web-slinger is part of an even bigger global story. The film has posted one of the biggest opening weekends in box office history worldwide at $927 million, with India emerging as its fourth-largest market. Released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam across more than 5,000 screens, the film continues to draw packed houses, with IMAX and 3D shows in particularly high demand across Mumbai, Bengaluru, and the NCR.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya, Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink. The story follows Peter attempting to rebuild his life after Doctor Strange’s spell erased him from the world’s memory — and going by the audience response, the world clearly hasn’t forgotten Spider-Man.

With strong word-of-mouth, positive reviews, and no major competition until the Independence Day releases arrive, the Rs 400 crore mark looks well within reach. The only question now is: how far can this web stretch?
